*I want to share just a little of my background with you. Growing up I always dreamed of becoming a designer; a fashion designer, a home interior designer, and eventually a graphic designer. Since my opportunity was to live in Orlando, Florida, I chose a degree in Graphic Design from the University of Central Florida. Since then, I have worked as a Graphic designer, a professional artist, and an educator.
I eventually migrated back to my small hometown, Palatka in North Florida. Palatka is known for the St. Johns River, which flows north, and is a daily inspiration for me. For awhile my creativity was in floral design with my own Florist, all the while, teaching and painting in my spare time. Fast forward a decade or so, it was here that my partner, Luke, also a professional artist, and I opened up a studio/ gallery and a non-profit fine arts school for youth called The Art Hole. For nearly twenty years, I have traveled to the West Indies and the Caribbean as a leader in missions. Besides, teaching children to paint, I've also trained leaders to give painting classes. It's difficult to obtain painting supplies, and it is my hope through the Art Hole, inc, we can provide more opportunities for our Caribbean neighbors.
I work in digital graphics as well as oil paints, water color, acrylics, soft pastel and charcoal. Although, I feel at peace in traditional landscapes and environmental subjects, I enjoy delving into conceptual and slightly more evocative work, leading into modern social issues. Like us all, every painting has a story. Sometimes, it's heard loud and clear, other times it's gently spoken................. “Art is for others to see, what I cannot vocalize” I hope you enjoy my art! :)
